Planning a project

First step: Defining a professional project

Above all, it is important to clearly define your objectives and motivations. If the former are not clear enough to you, a skills assessment will help you to take stock of your career aims and development, while, at the same time, making you aware of your potentials. Do not hesitate to meet professionals who will tell you about their jobs and will help you to see clear, to determine if your skills and knowledge correspond to the post, and if this is the case, how to acquire them.

Second step: Choosing between a diploma and a professional certification

All depends, once again on your professional project. A state diploma or an official title will bring you national recognition and enables you to pursue your studies subsequently. A professional title (certification of professional quality, professional titles from the Ministry of Social Affairs, Work and Solidarity) will bring you skills, aptitudes and knowledge to apply to your career. The most important factor remains the value of the qualification on the employment market.

Third step: Choosing your program well

The choice of the organism requires careful attention. Inform yourself about the objectives, the modalities and the pedagogical means available as well as the number of trainees.
The course costs can be covered by a funding organization (Fongecif, the State territorial collectivities …); before starting check that this is possible.

From the project to enrolment for a training course, the procedure takes time (admission, request of covering the costs, agreement of your employer, session dates …) : better apply earlier.
